The end sealing device advantageously has through-going screw holes for receiving screws for fastening the device to the end of the profile element. The above-mentioned object is also achieved with a profile element, which is of the type indicated in the introduction and is characterized in that it is provided at at least one end with an end sealing device according to the present invention. In this case, the rigid disc and the rubber layers inflated thereon preferably have an outer contour corresponding to the outer cross-sectional contour of the profile element. The profile element 1 has parallel guide strips 3, which extend in the longitudinal direction of the profile element and of which at least a part supports glass sheets 4, which are displaceable along the profile element 1. The profile element 1 has a number of upper channels 5, which are delimited between adjacent guide strips 3 and between the two outer guide strips and a corresponding outer edge strip 6 of the profile element 1 and in which rainwater, which for example flows down along the glass sheets 4, can accumulate. The profile element 1 also has a lower collecting channel 7, which is formed by the cavity of the profile element 1 designed as a hollow profile element. The upper channels 5 communicate with the collection channel 7 via holes 8, which are formed in the bottom of the channels 5. These two layers, which consist of a first layer 14a and a second layer 14b, are in a preferred embodiment made of aging-resistant EPDM rubber. As can be seen in a comparison between Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, the rigid disc 13 and the rubber layers 14a, 14b inflated thereon have an outer contour corresponding to the outer cross-sectional contour of the profile element 1, by which is meant that the end sealing device 11 almost exactly covers the outer cross-sectional contour of the profile element , ie also covers the cross section of the collection channel 7 and the channels 5. Because the end sealing device 11 has a rubber layer 14a, 14b at each side, identical end sealing devices 11 can be used for sealing closure of both ends 1a and 1b of the profile element 1, even if the profile cross section of the profile element 1, as in the example shown, is not symmetrical. If in this case only one flat side had a rubber layer vulcanized thereon and the other side lacked such a layer, two different end sealing devices would be required for sealing both ends 1a and 1b of the profile element 1. As mentioned above, the profile element 1 carries an end sealing device 11 of this kind at each end 1a, 1b. At one end 1a of the profile element 1, the first rubber layer 14a of the end sealing device 11 attached thereto abuts against the end of the profile element, while its second rubber layer 14b abuts the vertical wall surface 2a, and at the other end 1b of the profile element 1 abuts the second gum profile The end of the element, while its first rubber layer 14a abuts against the vertical wall surface 2b.
